At its heart lies black violet fused with a leather accord, the dark, dry composition born aloft by the delicate transparency of cristal rose. At the base, blonde woods add radiant warmth and harmony, punctuated by staccatoed flashes of luscious raspberry. The journey concludes with the gentle, earthy evocations of Haitian vetiver. Saffron is holy to all Hindus. It is the color of Buddhist robes and has become a symbol for India. It has always been a part of Byredo's founder's Indian upbringing, both in smell, taste and color. Black Saffron is a fragrance inspired by the very idea of sublime unity.

An oriental composition that opens with the bright note of Asian pomelo and crisp juniper berries, mellowed into a golden silage by kashmiri saffron.

I don't even know what it is at this point, but the opening notes of this just scream Byredo. I think because they have mastered masculine leaning unisex fragrances so well and this one DEFINITELY that. The opening notes of saffron and juniper berries jump out at you, but dissipate into the dry down rather quickly. I loved it on my husband. As always, wish Byredo fragrances lasted longer.

I appreciate how scent decant uses atomizers on even their smallest samples. Helps make it easier to truly sample.

Black Saffron Review

Its very nice. A night time fragence. I tend to like lighter floral scents better but im glad i went out of my comfort zone with this one. Down side is you can hardly smell it by the end of the day.
