Gucci launched its new perfume Gucci Bamboo in spring 2015, named after the already existing collection of accessories. The fragrance apparently reflects confidence and femininity. It is designed for modern women of character that is multifaceted. The fragrance is intense, graceful and gentle at the same time.The composition is floral woody. It opens with citrusy accords of bergamot leading to the exotic floral heart of ylang ylang, Casablanca lily and orange blossom. Intense notes of sandalwood, Tahitian vanilla and amber form the base.

Bamboo...?!?

This name conjured up a much fresher scent than what I ended up with. It has started to grow on me, though ultimately the fragrance is too sweet and flowery to my taste. It is very sophisticated, and reminiscent of leather and newspapers in the background. My very first association was a woman who smokes and is wearing a flowery perfume, but I'm sure that's just me and my imagination.

Sweeter than my usual and strong to start, but it's lovely when it settles, and it lasts well for me. Fresh and youthful enough for daytime.
