In September of 2014 Yves Saint Laurent launched Black Opium, the new fragrance announced as a rock n roll interpretation of the classic that should highlight the dark, mysterious side of the YSL brand. Master perfumers Nathalie Lorson and Marie Salamagne, in collaboration with Olivier Cresp and Honorine Blanc, developed the composition. Notes of coffee, present in large quantities, dominate the scent. Additional accords are pink pepper, orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla, patchouli and cedar.

Got it for the wife and she's happy, don't think i need to say anymore.

A little over powering

This fragrance is potent. On my skin it bounces back too dramatic. The feminine energy dries out.

Love it!!

Lasts all day

Very strong fragrance that lasts all day. A little goes a long way. I would consider this a perfect scent for night life.

Black Opium - burnt

To me, Black Opium smells like something I would use to clean my counter but not put on my body. It's like I burnt something on the stove and have to clean it off to cover the smell. I would not wear this but I can see where other people might like this dominant richness.
